Although your SootDevil is fitted with two motors, only ONE motor is required for general chimney sweeping and vacuuming.

Both motors should only be used when additional suction is required, such as dust control during birds' nest removal, chimney knockouts or similar operations.

IMPORTANT – MOTOR OVERHEATING

Continuous use of both motors can cause the filters to clog more quickly, restricting airflow and causing the motors to overheat and shut down.

Your SootDevil is fitted with automatic thermal cut-off protection. If the motors overheat, they will automatically shut down. The thermal cut-offs will normally reset once the motors have sufficiently cooled.

If this happens, switch off the vacuum, check for blockages and rectify the cause before restarting.
